Princess Celestia Miniature - Translucent Mane

Description

*This picture shows the translucence of Princess Celestia's mane and tail.

This gorgeous Princess Celestia figurine is very tiny, not even two inches tall; nonetheless, she is exquisitely detailed. Her body is made from a blend of Sculpey Bake and Bend and Fimo Soft (Sculpey Bake and Bend is only sold in packs, and I use up the white very quickly in making so many pastel ponies, so I often cut the white with white Fimo), but not to worry, she is still somewhat flexible and resistant to breakage. Her shoes, collar, and crown are all yellow Sculpey Bake and Bend, painted with gold acrylic paint and coated with a high gloss finish to make them gleam. Both crown and collar are set with tiny Swarovski amethyst crystals. The crown is set with a size 3pp stone (about 1mm), and the collar is set with a size 7pp stone (about 1.5mm). Both collar and crown have etched, swirling designs just like in the show. Her eyes and cutiemark are also handpainted with acrylic paint, and her eyes are coated with a high gloss finish to give them an eye-like shine.

Celestia's stunning mane and tail are made from blends of Fimo Translucent and Sculpey Bake and Bend, which gives the translucent clay a bit of give and pigment. In the third picture, where she is held to the light, you can see the ethereal effect. Her mane and tail are also sprinkled with .5mm clear no hole beads to make them sparkle like in the show.
